Facebook Demand Adult Dating Sites


Similarities name back into the issue of trademark or trademark in question up. Social networking giant is now demanding Shagbook dating sites.

The filing claims has been done up since May. Facebook argues Shagbook name is ambiguous and could have made users misunderstand that the site is part of Facebook.


Shagbook itself, as reported by Mashable, Monday (08/08/2011) is now strengthening its position on these allegations to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

In the file submission, Shagbook explicitly mentions that Facebook is distinctive name and the word book itself is a generic term. "It's actually challenging the validity of the trademark of Facebook," said Shagbook.

Shagbook, is said not only violated trademark Facebook Facebook because of the similarity his name but also in terms of commercial impression.

This is not the first time Facebook seeks to protect its trademark. Some form of social networking sites that use the word or the book becomes the target face the demands of Facebook.

Last year, a networking site dedicated to teachers named Teachbook become one of the victims Facebook. Though true, the domain sites that are domiciled in Northbrook, Chicago, United States, this function is far different from Facebook. Teachbook, a free community site for teachers that provides a variety of teaching tools.
