Aircraft crashes in around Mount Everest, 19 killed


Plan to travel to enjoy the beauty of Mount Everest has foundered. Small plane carrying tourists on vacation, fell in the vicinity of Mount Everest, into a hill near Nepal's capital Kathmandu. 19 people were reported killed.

Buddha Air, so the name of the plane, carrying 10 Indians, two Americans and a Japanese citizen. The aircraft was also carrying three local passengers and three crew.

"All 19 people have died," said Head of the Department for Rescue in Tribhuwan International Airport, as quoted by AFP on Monday (9/26/2011).


About 10 km from Kathmandu, the aircraft was hit by heavy rain and thick fog. The plane then crashed into the slopes that lead to broken into several parts.

An eyewitness recounts, he saw the plane flying very low. Not much later, the plane crashed into the slopes and the sound of explosions is strong.

"The plane was flying very low, we were very surprised, the plane hit a hill and there is a large explosion," said one witness.

One of the passengers were actually found in a safe condition. Unfortunately, during a trip to the hospital, the person died.
