Turkish Air Raid Kills 7 Iraqi Civilians

A Turkish air attacks intensified in northern Iraq killed seven civilians during the bombing campaign against Kurdish separatists in the region.

"Seven people, including women and children, were killed by the Turkish air attack on the village of cortex, in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq," said Mayor Dizah Qalat, Hassan Abdullah, as written news.com.au Monday (22 / 8 / 2011).

Abdullah added that the attack was directed to the cars driven by civilians. As a result of the attack was a car and passengers torn apart by the blast.

Today is the fifth Turkish jets bombed the Kurdistan region, and the first time civilian casualties.

The Turkish military launched bomb attacks against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) after deadly attacks by rebel groups against the military in the town of Cukurca, Turkey. In this attack, nine security officers were killed.
